DS Domination Review – Be Very Careful

By | April 5, 2014

Hey, thanks for stopping by my site to read my DS Domination review. Before I begin my post I want to say that this is a true legitimate review, I was a member of the program and I have a some experience in the affiliate & network marketing industry, based on that I’m going to tell you the things I liked about this program and the things I don’t like and simply why I decided it was not for me.

Update: After a lot of emails, messages and comments I decided to put together a video to explain why this program is not for me:

DS Domination Review – How It Works

DS Domination is basically a program that teaches people how to make money drop shipping. Drop shipping is basically reselling products on places like Ebay for profit. In this case what they teach you is how to find and identify products on Amazon that you can resell on Ebay for a small profit. The concept is simple, you find a product over $30 on Amazon that includes free shipping.

You list that product for a higher price by creating a listing on Ebay selling that product, you don’t need to own the product in order to sell it on Ebay and I’ll explain how. Basically if you find a product that sells on Amazon for $60 you can list it on Ebay for about $70 or more to gain a profit. When people find your listing on Ebay and decide to purchase the product they’ll have to pay you via PayPal first. After the order is placed you simply buy the original product on Amazon for a lower price and ship the item to the Ebay customer shipping the product as a gift. That way the customer never knows the product came for Amazon.

That’s basically the entire drop shipping model that DS Domination teaches it’s members. However, I gave you the short version. In reality there are a few things you’ll need to understand before you do anything which includes, state taxes, PayPal and Ebay fees, what items are prohibited, how to deal with returns and a lot of other information.

DS Domination Cost & Affiliate Program

When you join DS Domination you join for $20 per month to get access to the drop shipping training I explained above. There are additional products that range from $100 a month to $250 one time fees. The other products teach you how to make bigger profit margins and find more places to dropship. Becoming an affiliate is optional, you do need to pay an additional monthly fee in order to earn commissions. You only earn commissions on the products that you have purchased and you can earn multiple levels with a network marketing structure.

Is DS Domination a scam?

In my opinion is not a scam, mainly because you are getting access to a lot of training and new information on how to make money on Ebay and being only $20 anyone can make more than that with the information they are teaching.

However, I believe this program should not be a network marketing opportunity. It’s currently being marketed as a MLM program even though to me this program should clearly be an affiliate program. I been doing affiliate marketing for close to 5 years and in my experience how-to products like DS Domination are usually just products that sell for one-time fees with an affiliate program behind. In this case they are using a MLM type compensation structure which I believe is not the right thing to do.

Things I LIKE About DS Domination:

  • It’s only $20 to get started and the information inside is enough to recover your initial investment.
  • The tutorials are very clear and easy to understand, anyone even with no experience can learn to drop ship.
  • Becoming an affiliate is optional for everyone. You can simply be a customer if you want.

Things I DON’T Like About DS Domination:

  • The $20 monthly fee is there to simply be able to pay affiliates in the compensation plan. I believe this program does not require a subscription.
  • Many people simply quit after getting access to all the information because they don’t believe paying the $20 is necessary.
  • The profit margins are low compared to the amount of work and time put into finding and listing items.
  • You are relying on third party sites like Amazon, if Amazon or Ebay decides to stop allowing drop shipping your business would be in trouble.
  • The website’s presentation and structure makes a lot of claims which can attract attention from the wrong crowd.

After I sat down and started to analyze this program I made the decision that it was not for me. I wanted to do something that would pay me a solid residual income and not rely on external companies to decide my fate. Back in 2007-2008 people were making a killing online with Google Adsense and Adwords. Making money with Google was as easy as placing an ad on Google. After thousands of people started to abuse this Google decided to do something about it. This was known as the “Google Slap”.  Thousands of people that were relying on Google lost their income overnight.

The dangers of teaching thousands and thousands of people to use this drop shipping method creates massive competition and at the same time sooner or later Ebay and Amazon will take noticed. For that reason I decided that this program was not what I was looking for as a solid business. If you are planning to join hopefully now you know the negatives and positives of this program and whatever decision you make is up to you.

  • Lester Diaz said:Danie, appreciate you stopping by. Quick question if you are already in DS domination why are you reading DS domination reviews? Anyways YES I did signup and paid to get access in order to know what I was talking about, I don’t know if you read my review but I never said how much the affiliate fee was, I only talked about the initial product to get in. You should also know that anything that pays more than 2 levels is automatically NOT an affiliate program, that is where the MLM compensation structure comes in. Again, thanks for stopping by and wish you nothing but success, have a great day.June 2, 2014 Reply

  • jodi said:I joined Ds domination too. Kept it for one month and cancelled it. They teach you all that you need to know in just a few days. I breezed through the videos. I believe that it was worth 20 bucks for the knowledge. I had no clue how to sell anything on Ebay before this. I was always interested in this type of stuff.
It’s not a “get rich quick” kinda thing but it has its perks. They teach you the basics and how to get started. It was really exciting when I made my first sale. WORD OF ADVICE FOR ANYONE THAT WANTS TO DO THIS— If you dont have a little extra in your bank, or a credit card, it may be difficult to get started. It took me 3 months with ebay and paypal before they would release my funds right away. They have to make sure you are a trusted seller. At first it would be 3 days AFTER the buyer received their item before I got paid for it. I just used a credit card for items purchased by an ebay buyer, and when my funds were released, I made the payment. It sucked waiting but it was worth it after the waiting period. There are a few other stipulations that ebay gives you, which isn’t too difficult to achieve.I have been doing ok with it. I look at it as a hobby for now. I have fun with it and I enjoy the time I spend listing items. I have a regular full time job. This is just a little extra if I get lucky and sell something. Some weeks are good while others are dead. It has been grocery money, gas money, paid a couple credit card bills one month, a few hundred in savings for a vacation, etc. If something happens and they stop allowing it, yes I’ll be a little sad, BUT it won’t break my bank. You can’t put your eggs in one basket right? I’m just having fun. :)
